Procrastination

This is an act of procrastination
Words are swimming, need of trimming
Ready for my education, castration
Way too much stagnation

I need an act of easy stimulation
Feelings non-empowering, hovering
Around globalisation, crisis of the state, the nation
Everything is masturbation

This is an act of procrastination
Beats pulsating helps me, diverts me
Pulls me into the radio station, alienation
I need this simple violation

Smokescreens

Editorial Tabula Rasa Issue 5 2003 - DRUGS

It is elevating to be free. The cigarette’s smoky tendrils still try to wrest excuses out of my brain to light up ‘just one more’. However, I am not fooled anymore! The craving that I felt was not for anything substantial, it was a ‘smokescreen’, a hallucination of a ‘crutch’, a ‘friend’ or a stress relief. It’s none of those things, its pure poison, written clear as day on the package. Nicotine is the worst drug I have ever encountered personally, and I hope I never ever start again!

Do you have a drug? Is it a good or a bad one? What is a drug to you? Check out the answers in Vox Pops this time. A drug can be many things. Not all can be studied in a microscope.

Remember when you were a child, quarrelling and squabbling over who should be the pirate and who the cowboy, who was ‘it’ and who friends with whom? We can see this power struggle in today’s politicians sometimes, and it is quite ludicrous. Sometimes people that are around you on a daily basis can start behaving like snivelling brats as well. Sometimes too much sugar or too little caffeine just can’t justify it. The sad part is that by backstabbing, lies, gossip and childish pranks, friendships may be ruined and days darkened for everyone for no good reason. It is quite frightening to behold when it start spreading as well, like some kind of virus. It must be a terrible drug to become addicted to, especially because it too is just a smokescreen. Beware that you do not become caught up in it.

Editorial Tabula Rasa Issue 4 2003 - LIES

Winter is still keeping us inside, but as long as you got something interesting to read - like Tabula Rasa - and a cup of something warm, it’s endurable. Enjoy this very interesting issue we have called LIES.

Some of you have probably noticed how much our issues relate to a theme. We will continue to do so, but this does not mean we will not print articles that don’t ‘fit’. If it’s good, we print it – eventually. So please keep sending in your good articles! Maybe you have written an exceptionally good essay? Send it to us! Get published, get famous! We also welcome students that want to be active members of Tabula Rasa, of course, either as journalists, photographers, illustrators, proof-readers or whatever. Check out our website to see how to get involved.
So why LIES? When we choose a theme, we first look at what kind of articles we got, and if there is a recurring tread, that’s a theme! This time, it’s a lot of politically orientated articles, so LIES surprisingly seemed to fit..

thesis faesis ...

ok that is a bit harsh.. I know.. I love my subject and all, it is interesting... just sometimes it is hard to start tackling the huge stack of books I have to read.. and read every day for a long time. I am doing it though, and I have made a plan and everything. It will be all good!!!

Right now its TR weekend again. I try not to spend too much time there, but it is my 'job' kindof, since I am getting paid and all.

Yesterday I went with E&N to kick some ball in the park.. we even played some 'basse'!! That was fun.

I am sorry I have been neglecting my blog for so long, I will not do that again. Just somehow I feel I have to write just clever things here... which is bullshit of course! I write whatever I damn please.

I miss Joppe
